An exciting blast from the past is about to happen on CBS Daytime, as several fan favorite actors are making their way back to the network.
As previously reported, The Talk will be airing a special soap opera-themed episode on Wednesday, October 12, in celebration of CBS Daytime's 30 consecutive years as the most watched network in daytime, and a CBS rep confirmed to Soap Central that the program will be featuring Guiding Light actors Kim Zimmer (ex-Reva Shayne), Robert Newman (ex-Josh Lewis), Grant Aleksander (ex-Phillip Spaulding), and Beth Chamberlin (ex-Beth Raines), as well as As the World Turns' Martha Byrne (ex-Lily Snyder), Colleen Zenk (ex-Barbara Ryan), Ellen Dolan (ex-Margo Hughes), and Elizabeth Hubbard (ex-Lucinda Walsh).
In addition, the special episode of The Talk will feature The Young and the Restless' Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Christel Khalil (Lily Winters), and Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott), as well as The Bold and the Beautiful's Don Diamont (Bill Spencer), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer), and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester).

Guiding Light was a radio broadcast for 15 years before transferring to CBS, where it ran from 1952 to 2009 and was noted by Guinness World Records as the longest-running soap opera in daytime. As The World Turns was launched as a sister show to GL in 1956 and aired for 54 years.
