Latina stars set to shake up DAYS

Latina superstars Ximena Duque and Alma Delfina are headed to Days of our Lives' Salem.

A bit of Columbian and Mexican flair is about to shake up Days of our Lives' Salem, with popular stars Ximena Duque and Alma Delfina on their way to the NBC soap.

Telemundo's Ximena Duque, who's known for several Spanish telenovelas, is set to make her English-language television debut in the role of Blanca, a character who will be interacting with Galen Gering's Rafe and Camila Banus' Gabi starting in May of this year.

Meanwhile, Mexican star Alma Delfina has also joined the NBC soap for a story arc that intersects with Duque's. Rumor has it, the actress' alter ego will turn out to be Rafe and Gabi's mom.

Duque is a Colombian-born actress who began her career in 2006 with a starring role on Telemundo's Decisiones, followed by roles on Pecados Ajenos and several other telenovelas. In 2012, she gained international recognition for her dramatic role as a bodyguard in Corazón Valiente. She played the villain in Santa Diabla, and made her big-screen debut in the film Primero Enero followed by a starring role in Morir Soñando, coming to theaters soon.

Delfina also has quite a résumé that includes several Spanish-speaking series, ER, Skins, CSI: Miami, The Division, and a recent role on Major Crimes.
